Members of the Board of Directors and representatives of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce participated in Clean Air Day.

The board of directors of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, along with some members of the chamber’s representatives, visited the ISQI Automotive Safety and Pollution Testing Complex today and got acquainted closely with the capabilities of this center.
This event was held on the eve of Clean Air Day, during which, while describing the capabilities of the mentioned complex, all laboratories such as automotive, motorcycle and diesel emission testing, catalyst converter, and elevator parts laboratory were visited.
Saeed Tajik, the CEO of ISQI and the head of the Energy and Environment Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, introduced the activities of the ISQI complex and its future development plans during a session. He also referred to National Clean Air Day and said: “The upcoming occasion is a great opportunity for members of the Chamber of Commerce, especially those in the energy and environmental sectors, to take a more serious look at the problem of air pollution, as the intensity of this crisis has permeated into every aspect of society, and now the majority of people are affected by it.”
He continued: “This visit is important because it allows esteemed members of the Chamber of Commerce to become familiar with air pollution testing and control equipment up close before Clean Air Day, and to collaborate together on actionable solutions to address the issue of air pollution.”
The head of the Energy and Environment Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce added: “Unfortunately, the level of pollution control in Iran’s technical inspections is three times higher than the global standard of Euro 5, which will lead to increased air pollution and impose pressures on automakers.”
Tajik once again addressed the issue of weaknesses in the country regarding vehicle pollution, stating: “Currently, the level of inspection and measurement of vehicle pollution in the country lacks a logical limit, and despite observations, polluting vehicles are still on the roads.”
Additionally, Mahmoud Najafi Arab, the head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, considered quality as one of the existing problems in various sectors, especially in transportation. He continued: “Entities similar to ISQI, operating in the private sector, can play a very effective role in improving the quality of goods and services.”
At the end, while appreciating ISQI and the capabilities of its laboratory complex, he added: “It is evident from the capabilities of this complex that it should also consider distant futures, and I hope that it will play a role as an international organization on a global scale.”
It should be noted that the ISQI automotive safety and emission measurement laboratory complex, as an independent center from automakers and related industries, is responsible for conducting emission and fuel consumption tests in the country. With 18 years of experience, this complex, as an accredited laboratory of the Environmental Protection Organization and a cooperating laboratory of the Iranian National Standards Organization, currently performs more than 20 tests.
