In an era where work-life balance has become one of the primary concerns of employees, and technological advancements have transformed human resource management, the role of human resource managers is more significant than ever.

On the occasion of Human Resources Day, we would like to extend our congratulations to the hardworking colleagues in the Human Resources Department at the Quality and Standard Inspection Company of Iran. We decided to engage in a brief discussion with Yeganeh Javani, the capable and young manager of this department, to explore the above topic. Additionally, given the remarkable growth of artificial intelligence in the HR field, we inquired about her views on the impacts of this technology on key processes such as recruitment, performance management, and training. Stay with us…

How do you support the balance between your employees’ personal and work lives in your company?

Maintaining a balance between employees’ personal and work lives is one of our top priorities. Some of the actions we take to support this balance include:

Healthy Work Culture: Encouraging regular breaks, preventing excessive workloads, and creating an environment where employees feel they can attend to their personal needs. For instance, in our “Ravish” plan, employees with fewer overtime hours receive higher ratings.

Support Programs: Offering psychological counseling, welfare programs, and group sports activities to help employees manage stress.

Time Management Training: Organizing workshops related to increasing productivity and time management so that employees can perform their tasks better without needing to work overtime.

Attention to Family Needs: Supporting parents with flexible leave options, childcare facilities, and arrangements that allow them to attend to their families.

Appropriate Leadership Model: Managers should also be good examples of work-life balance so that a healthy culture can be ingrained in the organization.

The extent of technology and artificial intelligence use in the human resources sector and its changes in processes?

The use of artificial intelligence in human resources management has significantly increased and has had widespread impacts on organizational processes. Research shows that 64% of HR professionals welcome the integration of artificial intelligence into their processes.

The most significant changes in human resources processes include:

Recruitment and talent acquisition: AI tools such as resume data analysis and automated interviews help reduce the hiring time.

Performance management: Smart systems analyze employee data to identify weaknesses and strengths and provide improvement suggestions.

Training and development: Machine learning algorithms predict employees’ training needs and recommend appropriate courses.

Compensation and benefits management: Automating payroll processes has reduced errors and increased accuracy in payments.

Challenges of using AI in human resources include: Ethical and privacy issues: The use of employee data requires legal and ethical frameworks.

Balancing between human and technology: Organizations need to enhance human skills such as emotional intelligence and creativity alongside technology.

Given this trend, it is expected that artificial intelligence will play a more key role in human resources decision-making, and organizations will move towards greater integration of technology in their processes.
