ISQI: A Model of Quality and Excellence

  1. The National Standards Organization of Iran Holds Its First “Excellence Tour” at ISQI to Share Knowledge and Experience

Iran Standard and Quality Inspection Company (ISQI), recognized as the top-performing company in the Iran National Quality Award (INQA), hosted the first “Excellence Tour” organized by the National Standards Organization of Iran. The initiative aimed to share ISQI’s success journey, operational experiences, and lessons learned in quality and organizational excellence with manufacturing and service organizations across the country.

The event was attended by the Director General of the Office for Quality Assessment of Goods and Services at the National Standards Organization of Iran, ISQI’s Deputy CEO and senior managers, as well as representatives of the National Standards Organization and a number of representatives from manufacturing and service organizations across the country. During the event, ISQI’s digital transformation journey in customer experience, brand development, human resources, and organizational processes was discussed.

At the beginning of the event, Hadi Shafiei Gol, Director General of the Office for Quality Assessment of Goods and Services at the National Standards Organization of Iran, referred to the new approaches and updates to the Iran National Quality Award model in its 19th edition. He stated:

“The model was revised through the participation and collaboration of assessors and lead assessors from the National Standards Organization, as well as university professors. We also reviewed international standards from 82 countries and made minor modifications to the EFQM 2025 model, with the aim of moving the award toward a more product-oriented approach.”

Praising ISQI’s performance among the 161 organizations participating in the previous INQA cycle, he added:

“Achieving a score of 516, the highest score in this award, by Iran Standard and Quality Inspection Company demonstrates the organization’s capability to implement the model and embed quality across all of its processes, which is truly commendable. For this reason, this Excellence Tour was organized so that other organizations could benefit from the experience of this successful model.”

Babak Esmaeilian, Member of the Board of Directors and Deputy CEO of ISQI, also outlined ISQI’s journey toward organizational excellence and highlighted key lessons from this path. Describing excellence as an ongoing journey, he said:

“Excellence is not a destination. Every year, by identifying our existing gaps and areas that need to be developed, we redefine our path for improvement.”

Esmaeilian also identified the successful implementation of strategy and the continuous review of procedures as among ISQI’s other successful experiences. He added:

“Unlike many organizations that stop at writing a strategy, we have embedded strategy into different organizational layers through the implementation of the OKR model and weekly and quarterly monitoring. In addition, through excellence models, we have infused the spirit of quality into more than a thousand company procedures and reviewed them in line with actual organizational needs.”

Zeinab Naghash, ISQI’s Quality Assurance and Performance Planning Manager, then introduced the company’s services and capabilities and briefed the participants on the company’s journey in the National Quality Award, as well as the improvement initiatives and projects undertaken as part of its excellence journey toward achieving the Trophy level.

Azadeh Entezari, ISQI’s Communications Manager, discussed the customer journey at ISQI, presenting a new perspective on the transformation of customer experience, with particular emphasis on the organization’s brand.

Sajjad Naser Khaki, IT Manager at ISQI, also shared with the participants the company’s digital transformation journey, the evolution and maturity of this approach, as well as its successes and lessons learned from challenges along the way. Yeganeh Javani, Human Resources Manager, provided a live demonstration of the digital systems used across the HR department, including recruitment and hiring, contract management, the suggestion system, the Ruyesh Program, performance evaluation, and other related processes.

As part of the Excellence Tour, the participants also visited ISQI’s Contact Center and Vehicle Emissions Testing Center, where they had the opportunity to observe firsthand the operational processes involved in customer surveys and emissions testing for passenger cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles.

It is worth noting that the purpose of organizing this tour was to familiarize companies interested in participating in the Iran National Quality Award with successful examples and the initiatives undertaken by these organizations to achieve growth, excellence, and continuous improvement in quality. The tour was organized by the National Standards Organization of Iran, as the authority responsible for the award.
