The Importance of Quality Assurance, Distribution Networks, and Recycling in Ensuring Renewable Electricity Supply

The 15th International Exhibition of the Electricity Industry and Renewable Energy (including topics such as quality control) was held from November 10 to November 13 at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds.

Saeed Tajik, Chairman of the Energy and Environment Commission of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, commented on the exhibition:
“This exhibition specifically includes three halls dedicated to renewable energy, while the other halls focus on the electricity industry. This year, we have witnessed a remarkable level of participation in the renewable energy sector. In the dedicated halls, in addition to the relevant associations, a large number of companies involved in the supply and production of solar panels, consultancy, engineering, installation, and other related services are actively present.”

He further noted the significant increase in awareness and expertise among participants compared to previous years:
“Last year, many visitors did not even know what steps were necessary to set up a power plant. This year, however, it is clear that everyone is well-acquainted with renewable energy and fully understands its market requirements. This level of attention and engagement indicates that the renewable energy industry in Iran is taking root, and naturally, the challenges of energy imbalance and electricity supply from thermal power plants have accelerated this paradigm shift.”

The Chairman also highlighted a key point regarding grid stability and transmission lines:
“However, we must not forget that the stability of distribution networks and transmission lines in solar power plants must be taken seriously. The growth of the electricity distribution network in Iran has lagged behind power generation, resulting in network aging, energy losses, and reduced efficiency. In my view, this issue will be one of the fundamental challenges for the future of electricity in Iran.”

He also emphasized the importance of solar panel recycling:
“While panel prices have decreased in the global market, we must pay attention to quality, efficiency, and recycling, so that in the future they do not turn into a ‘graveyard of underperforming solar panels.’”

It is worth noting that the 15th International Exhibition of Renewable Energy and Electricity Efficiency featured approximately 600 booths, reflecting serious commitment and efforts toward sustainable development and the advancement of the renewable energy industry in Iran.
