Inspection and Evaluation of Goods Subject to Mandatory Standards

For imported goods subject to mandatory standards and technical regulations, the inspection and evaluation of goods may be carried out at the origin prior to shipment or at the destination before the shipment is cleared through customs. This process includes the review of documents and records, physical inspection, sampling of the shipment, and conducting the required tests in accordance with the relevant standards and technical regulations at laboratories approved by the National Standards Organization of Iran.

In this inspection, after receiving the test results of the sampled shipment, the relevant results are reviewed and evaluated by an inspector and a qualified technical manager in the relevant field. If the results conform to the standards and technical regulations accepted by the National Standards Organization of Iran, a Certificate of Inspection (COI) is issued in accordance with the applicable requirements.
