CNG Vehicle and Fuel Station Inspection (CNG Industry)
The CNG Inspection Department, or Compressed Natural Gas Equipment Inspection Department, was established in 2009 with the aim of monitoring and technically inspecting natural gas equipment to prevent and reduce accidents and fatalities resulting from the use of compressed natural gas (CNG). Drawing on its expertise and experience, and having obtained the necessary accreditations from the National Accreditation Center of the National Standards Organization of Iran in relevant areas, the department conducts technical inspections and quality control of CNG cylinders and gas-fueled vehicles in accordance with international standards, including ISO 6406, ECE R110, ISO 11439, and ISO 15500, as well as Iranian national standards numbered 7829, 12054, 6792, 8002, 7598, 9747, and 9426, across the country. While maintaining and enhancing the quality of its services, the department places emphasis on the expertise of its specialists, prioritizes advances in vehicle technology, considers the increasing share of motor vehicles in transportation and travel, and takes into account the expansion and development of urbanization, as well as public health and safety and the level of vehicle emissions.
With the aim of gaining customer satisfaction and confidence, the department strives to become one of the country’s leading and pioneering companies in the field of technical inspection of natural gas equipment by expanding the scope of its services.
The main activities of this department include:
* Inspection of all equipment installed at CNG fuel stations and liquid fuel stations (gasoline and diesel)
* Inspection of CNG equipment installed on gas-fueled vehicles (converted and used) and issuance of health certificates
* Inspection and calibration validation testing of dispensers at CNG fuel stations
* In-process inspection during the manufacturing of various types of CNG cylinders
1- Periodic Inspection of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Refueling Stations
Technical inspection of all equipment at CNG stations, including inspection of the metering system, LP piping up to the dryer, dryer, compression system compressor, dispenser, distribution system (electrical panels and cables), safety zones and traffic areas, documentation, storage tanks, and compressed natural gas storage tank valves, in accordance with National Standards Nos. 7829, 12054, and 8002, as well as the instructions and procedures of the National Standards Organization, and submission of reports to the relevant authorities.
2- Periodic Inspection of Gas-Fueled Vehicles (Converted and Used)
Our country’s road transportation fleet is becoming one of the world’s largest fleets using compressed natural gas (CNG) as fuel. Therefore, quality control of gas-fueled vehicles operating on city streets is of great importance for maintaining public safety. The purpose of conducting periodic inspections of gas-fueled vehicles is to create an environment free from pollution caused by vehicle combustion processes and to provide a safe environment in terms of preventing accidents involving gas-fueled vehicles, which currently pose a serious threat to the lives and safety of drivers and passengers in urban areas. Periodic inspection of gas-fueled (CNG) vehicles includes inspection of the storage cylinder, cylinder valve, PRD, and related pipes and fittings based on Iranian national standards 9426, 9747, and 7598, as well as submission of the relevant reports to the authorities concerned.
Completed Projects:
* Issuance of health certificates for converted vehicles and registration in the irngv.ir system for CNG kit supplier companies, including Tavana, Fanavaran Parsian, Shahab Auto Gas, and others
* Inspection of CNG fueling equipment using the mother-daughter station method in the cities of Naein, Khur and Biabanak, Anarak, Chopanan, Jandaq, and Zabol
* Inspection and issuance of reports for type approval of the country’s gas-fueled vehicles, including Arisan, Zamyad, Padra, and Bahman Diesel light trucks
* Inspection and issuance of type approval for various types of CNG cylinders, including steel, hoop-wrapped, fully wrapped, and composite cylinders
* Inspection and review of newly developed gasoline station plans and verification of their conformity with reference standards
