IQS Index Study (Identification and Analysis of Product Defects)
The IQS index (Initial Quality Study) is one of the recognized indicators in the field of automotive quality assessment, which, by focusing on identifying and measuring defects and problems experienced by customers during the first three months of vehicle use, provides a picture of product quality from the consumer’s perspective. In J.D. Power studies, initial vehicle quality is also measured based on the number of problems reported by customers and in the form of “number of problems per 100 vehicles.”
In the studies conducted by the Customer and Market Research Center, the IQS index is measured by conceptual modeling and simulation of international approaches to measuring automotive quality, including J.D. Power studies. In this process, defects and problems raised by customers are received, coded, and categorized based on the relevant system and section of the vehicle.
