Integrating Culture and the Environment into ISQI’s Social Responsibility: Closing Ceremony of the “Iranian Sustainability” Book Competition

The closing ceremony of the reading competition based on the book Iranian Sustainability was held at ISQI’s Sarv Building. The ceremony was attended by Mohammad Darvish, environmental activist and one of the authors of the book; Saeed Tajik, CEO of Iran Standard and Quality Inspection Company (ISQI), who was the main supporter of the publication of the first edition of the book; representatives of other supporting organizations; members of Hamrokh Publishing; and the top winners of the reading competition.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Azadeh Entezari, ISQI’s Communications Manager, emphasized the importance of social responsibility and explained the company’s main objective in supporting the publication of Iranian Sustainability: “One of our important annual objectives, as well as a key component of our 2030 vision, is sustainable development, particularly environmental protection, as part of our social responsibility. In this regard, supporting the publication of Iranian Sustainability was important to us as an initiative that brings together two valuable areas: culture and the environment.”

Mohammad Darvish subsequently introduced Iran Standard and Quality Inspection Company to the attendees as a company active in the screening and quality monitoring of the country’s vehicles. Referring to the country’s economic conditions, he also praised the company’s investments in developing the infrastructure required for vehicle testing.

In his remarks, Saeed Tajik, CEO of ISQI, outlined the company’s areas of activity and capabilities, including the country’s only crash test center, its vehicle emissions testing center, and its largest contact center and public data collection center, all located in the Sarv Building, which was designed based on green architecture principles.

Emphasizing the company’s motto, “Our Small Steps for Iran,” he said: “Social responsibility has become a duty and a mission for us. One of our goals is to take meaningful steps toward raising environmental awareness through initiatives such as this book and to serve the public and children.”

The CEO of ISQI also highlighted the company’s successful cooperation with MAHAK, adding: “Another initiative undertaken by the company as part of its social responsibility is supporting children with cancer and establishing B2B processes with the MAHAK Institute. Following this cooperation, a financial-support kiosk for the organization was installed at the company, and joint campaigns between the two organizations are currently underway.”

At the end of the ceremony, the winners of the Iranian Sustainability book competition, who had written the best reviews of the book, were honored. Their prizes were presented by the supporters and the author of the book.

The program continued with a screening of the documentary Forgotten, narrated by Mohammad Darvish and directed by Mehdi Afshar Nik. The screening was held at the Damavand Hall in the presence of a number of external guests and ISQI employees.

It is worth noting that the documentary focuses on the environmental challenges facing the Hoor-al-Azim Wetland. Through an engaging narrative approach, it explores the roots of the crisis and the drying of this wetland across Iran, Iraq, and Turkey.
