Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

Life Cycle Assessment is a scientific and comprehensive method for identifying and evaluating the environmental impacts of a product, service, or process throughout its entire life cycle, from raw material extraction and production to use, maintenance, and end-of-life, recycling, or disposal. The purpose of this approach is to identify high-risk areas in terms of resource consumption, pollutant generation, and greenhouse gas emissions, and to provide optimal solutions for reducing negative environmental impacts. LCA is generally conducted based on the international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, which define the principles, framework, requirements, and guidelines for conducting life cycle assessments. This method is used across various industries, from the production of goods and services to energy and transportation, as a key tool for sustainable development and strategic decision-making.
