Vehicle Air Conditioning System Emissions Laboratory

The purpose of this test is to investigate the leakage rate and measure the amount of R134 gas from vehicle air conditioning systems in accordance with the requirements and test method of National Standard INSO 16444.

The Vehicle Air Conditioning System Emissions Laboratory operates as the only laboratory in the country in the field of measuring R134-a gas (refrigerant) leakage from the air conditioning systems of passenger cars. The procedure for conducting this test, which is in fact carried out to limit emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases, is in accordance with the requirements of the standard and includes preheating, holding, and sampling of leakage from the vehicle air conditioning system.
