In preparation for the launch of the new LADA Azimut, AvtoVAZ has installed a high-precision measuring gauge on the model’s assembly line to ensure top-tier quality of both exterior and interior components.

The gauge, a master body sample created from a 3D model with accuracy up to 0.2 mm, is made of aluminum and weighs over five tons. It enables specialists to not only visually assess parts but also perform precise measurements using feeler gauges and 3D scanners.

“Such high-precision gauges allow us to mathematically evaluate perceived quality and identify even the smallest deviations,” said an AvtoVAZ spokesperson. “During the pre-production stage, adjustments to the process or tooling can be made to ensure every part matches the master sample.”

The LADA Azimut is being developed with more than 800 original parts, of which 130 significantly influence the vehicle’s appearance. The high-precision gauge ensures these parts meet strict standards before entering mass production.

AvtoVAZ first used similar measuring gauges during the development of the LADA Vesta and LADA Iskra, helping establish a stable and high-quality standard across its production lines.

The introduction of this gauge underscores AvtoVAZ’s commitment to maintaining consistent quality, precise fit, and superior visual appeal for the LADA Azimut, setting a benchmark for the brand’s upcoming vehicles.
